Repairing or Servicing Your Hearing Aid
At Reno Hearing Center, we are able to service and make minor repairs to most brands of hearing instruments. If your aid needs to go to the manufacturer for repair, it will ship overnight, both directions, and may be back in as little as a week. Hearing Aid Devices & Batteries
Completely-In-the-Canal (CIC)
CIC aids are the smallest hearing aids made. They fit so deeply in the ear canal that a “flexline” attached to the hearing aid is used to remove it from the ear. CIC’s are the least noticeable of the hearing aid styles, but also have the fewest options and the least power due to their size. CIC’s are custom fit to your ear.
In-The-Canal (ITC)
ITC aids are the next larger size hearing aid. They fit in the ear canal, but protude enough that no flexline is needed. ITC’s generally offer more power and options than CIC’s and may have a manual program switch and volume control. ITC’s are custom fit to your ear.
In-The-Ear (ITE)
ITE aids come in two styles – “Half Shell” and “Full Shell”. Half shell aids extend from the ear canal slightly while full shell aids fill the outer ear. Both styles allow for more options than smaller hearing aids as well as allowing for increased amplification for more severe hearing losses. ITE’s are custom fit to your ear.
Receiver-In-The-Canal (RIC)
RIC aids are similar to a BTE aid except that, instead of a thick, hollow tube leading to a mold in the ear, the RIC uses a very thin wire that connects directly to a speaker (receiver) in the ear. The result is a nearly invisible, very comfortable fit.
Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
BTE aids are the largest of the hearing aids and offer the greatest amount of power and the most options available in hearing instruments. BTE’s hook over your ear and are connected to the ear canal with a custom made ear mold.

Reno Hearing Center offers only the highest quality, longest lasting, Rayovac Extra Advanced hearing aid batteries in sizes 10, 13, 312, and 675. Our batteries are fresh from the factory and sell for $5.00 per package of 6, or $45 per box of 60, plus tax. Batteries can also be mailed for small shipping and handling fee.
